Ednan Agaev is the managing partner of the Moscow Office of the firm and has a strong expertise in project finance, private equity, international government relations and infrastructure. Ednan Agaev leads international projects and strategic communications.

Former diplomat, he occupied various high-ranking positions in the Soviet and then Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, representative of the Russian Federation to the First Committee of the UN General Assembly, Chief negotiator in various international arms control and international security negotiations, Special advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director of Foreign Policy planning. He also served in the United Nations Secretariat, the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) and was a member of the Advisory Board of the UN Secretary General on the disarmament issues.

Ednan Agaev was a professor of diplomacy at the Moscow State University of International Relations, lectured as a guest professor in various universities, including Georgetown University (USA), the Geneva Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Switzerland) and Assas (France).

After having left public service, Ednan Agaev co-founded the law firm Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners (EPAP). As a Senior partner of the firm, he was leading the International Consulting practice, and participated in most of the international and cross-border projects in which EPAP was involved. Furthermore, he has represented the Russian Federation in various cases in the International Court of Justice.

From 2001 to 2012, Ednan Agaev was a founding member and the Senior Vice-president of the Russian-American Business Council.
